Don’t ask me why, but one of my favorite hobbies is identifying friends who look like famous people. (BTW, Troy has produced some good-looking citizens!)
Yes, I see the resemblance to Tina Fey. I'm not family with Karen from Will & Grace, but I'll look for those re-runs now. Thanks for subscribing, Nancy!
Thanks, Emily. I think you look like someone famous. It always gnaws at me when I think someone resembles someone else ... and I can't place who it is or what features make me think this.
UDPATE ON ANOTHER STORY: There's been great interest in my story on the history of painting the CHHS water tower, which I posted a week ago. However, I continue to get solid new info and have updated that story several times. I now have more names and another "scoop" on de-classified info from ... 1988.
Anyway, readers might want to go back and read the updated story. I also always pop extra info into the Reader Comments (like I am doing here).
A FB reader added another good selection: "Joel Amos looks like Marty Schottenheimer(former Kansas City Chiefs coach."
NOTE: Subscribers to the Troy Citizen can register their "posting handle" on Substack and make unlimited posts at this website/Substack newsletter. That's a great way to add to the conversation or include info I should have included in my stories. All stories and posts are archived for as long as this site remains in existence. All comments are appreciated.
You can also correct any errors I might have made in my articles and I can quickly edit my mistakes.
My friend and classmate Ed Black (CHHS Class of '83) started to look like PGA golfer Jim Furyk the older both men got. Ed is one of the best all-around athletes ever to come from Troy, certainly one of the best baseball players. He took up golf later in life. It took him about 2 months of playing before he could beat me!
I also think Nick Saban is a cross between Humphrey Bogart and Al Pacino.
Former Alabama and NBA basketball player Robert Horry, of course, looks like the twin of actor Will Smith.
This was a fun read, Bill. I'm often told I resemble Karen from Will & Grace or occasionally, Tina Fey.

Bill these are great !! I had never thought of any of these but they all are strikingly similar!!! I see it!!

Kim Reddoch Stevens added another good addition via FB and the "ppl from Troy" group ...
"I’ve always been told my daughter looks like Tawny Kitaen from the Whitesnake video in the 80s!"
Update: Kim's daughter is Elly Stevens.

Donna Gibson just added this: "I was told I favor Tina Yothers from Family Ties."
Yothers played the baby sister on that very popular show (one of my favorites from the 1980s).
Donna posted side-by-side photos of herself and the actress. She did look like her!
