I have a confession to make. For the first time in my life (since I was 6 years old), I didn't watch an Alabama game that was on TV. I had a powerful premonition that something like what happened was going to happen ... and I asked myself why would I want to put myself through the torture of watching such an event.
So, as Carrie and the kids went to Enterprise to go see "Wicked," I took a warm bath and then retired to the Big Bed where I was sound asleep by 7:45 p.m. I did wake up at around 9:40 p.m. and checked the scores on ESPN ... and saw Alabama lost 24-3. I also watched Auburn drive down the field and force overtime, but went back to sleep before that game's outcome was decided.
Your dad and I use to bet on the now Iron Bowl when we were in high school. I frequently had to ask for an advance on my allowance to pay my debt to your dad.1

I'm changing in my old age.
